Just curious, what is all of you opinions on what it means to be a gentleman, and how are practical ways you can show you are a gentleman in todays society:
An example would be: Gentlemen are courteous toward all others, thus they have good manners and say please and thank your and your welcome.

I think the term in the modern sense has lost all of it's meaning. It's thrown around with terms like "hero" and 'bravery". Today the term is used inclusively rather than exclusively because we wouldn't want to hurt anyones wittle feelers...
There's a show on the Disney channel ( just wait till you have kids...) called HigglyTown Hero's. and EVERYONE is a hero- the pizza guy, the mailman, oops mail delivery person ( gotta be PC you know ). now I'm sure those are honorable proffesions, but do we need to call them heroes?
To me, it's a slap in the face to those actual hero's who gave there lives so our country might stay around long enough to let Disney make a mockery of their sacrifice.
I think it's up to our generation to make a change.. to drop the PC world we live in and get back to reality.

I agree with Brent, the term is used so loosely now it has essentially lost its meaning.
Jon I think your example is correct in what a gentlemen used to be. Nowadays it seems that gentlemen are anyone who does something nice, doesn't matter if they're a hardcore drug addict and beat their wife.
And what the heck is that ad doing between the 1st and 2nd posts?
