It s free ( the old one ) with HL you should DL it and give it a try just to see the class interactions. It's way addictive.

Definately will do... oh wait, I have to wait for comcast's comcastic service to come and hook up my net connection on THURSDAY! But.... I think I'm going to "borrow" a wireless card from work and see if I can hook myself up with some wireless goodness.

This new game is a total cop-out on their original idea for TF2. It's basically TF 1 re-done with retarded graphics which don't belong in the competative FPS market. It's also a waste of Valve's time, because this won't pull anyone off of CS or WoW for more than a week. It's basically a stupid novelty.
They should call it TF TOON =P

I'd play it for more than a week, if its fun. Graphics don't bother me, as long as they're somewhat decent and the game play is great, I'm all in.

Cartoon or not, if those are the real character skins i think its awesome that they are soo different. It makes it alot easier to see what class other players are with just a glance.

This still doesn't change the fact that they're not making a sequel, they're simply re-hashing an old game with new graphics. The original TF2 had some pretty awesome ideas, but what they're actually releasing offers nothing to the genre. Also, the Team Fortress gameplay is extremely outdated. In terms of gameplay and features, titles like Enemy Territory, the Battlefield series, and DoD are way ahead of this.
I don't know what Valve is thinking. Why would you spend so much money to produce a novelty that no one is going to care about a month after its release?
Portal, on the other hand, is awesome.

TFC Hater!!!!
Joel You've always been a TFC hater! You Rat Bastard! hehe Anyaway, ya its a cop out from what they were gonna do, but didn't DoD and BF series pretty much cover that ground? I'd rather play a fun game than one that technically has everything. TFC has always been about the nuance's SP? of the TFC game... Simple and Fun.
I enjoyed the heck out of it in the fitst round, and TFC2 looks like it will follow in it's footsteps.
